I Is for Imagine

Imagine there’s no heaven it’s easy if you try
No hell below us above us only sky
Imagine all the people living for today

Imagine there’s no countries it isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for and no religion too
Imagine all the people living life in peace

You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope some day you’ll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger a brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people sharing all the world

You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope some day you’ll join us
And the world will be as one

  2. Nice singing (again).

as a youth on graduation day
    beginning a life of glory
    seeking a fortune every day

.....unless he's American. Then it's beginning a life of crushing student debt in a shit job market, in a country whose social mobility would embarrass a feudal culture. That imagination has to work pretty hard, here.

    1. We have 2 that we put through college. It was in the mid 1990's just before the s-t hit the fan. They didn't get all the fancies, but they left with no debt. And now have pretty good jobs. At least nobody is writing home for $$.
I went to summer school every year to complete my degree. No lazy hazy days of summer for me.

  3. You poem is very good. I will imagine things till my very last breath.

That is my favorite song and I still get a lump in my throat every time I hear it.

    1. When I was growing up we played a lot of "Let's Pretend." No TV. No phones etc etc. Just a lot of imagination.
I think you know what I mean. :)

  5. An imagination is a sign of intelligence. It is a way of exploring and getting acquainted with your own mind. As far as John Lennon's song Imagine... it is possibly the greatest song ever.

    1. I think you are right. That song will still be playing when everyone here is long gone.
I have never had a problem entertaining myself. Not afraid of being alone. I'm good company. lol

  6. Imagine everyone treating everyone else, even those who disagree, with kindness, consideration and respect. It would certainly make it easier to solve the problems we have.

    1. I think and believe that a lot ... many many people treat one another with kindness etc. We just seem to hear about the other through the news media.
There will always be differences .... but what is hopeful is that people just keep hoping and imagining. And that is important.

  7. I think imagination is closely related to hope, for most people anyway. I like your poem and your singing of Imagine.

    1. Hope is a powerful ... I guess ... tool of the mind. It's bigger than pretending and maybe bigger than imagining.
      Thanks!

    1. It certainly would be a boring life if we could not hope and dream. I'm always planning something. Most of what I plan never happens .... but it is the thoughts behind the plan that keeps us going.

  10. Hi MM, everything okay there? You've been missing for a few days - just checking, as it's worrisome when a blogger isn't around on their usual schedule :)

    1. Thank you very much for your comment of concern. Yes, my ISP decided to just take a little break for a few days. No internet! No TV! for 4 days. I dusted off the radio to get a little news. Got little else done.
      A Blogging Schedule. LOL
